Making an Artefact Donation

The Fleet Air Arm Museum holds a substantial collection of material related to naval aviation which is used for reference purposes, for display and for education. We are frequently offered for acquisition items related to the Fleet Air Arm and the Royal Naval Air Service. Because the Museum's collection is already so large, we have to be very selective in the material we accept. All offers of artefacts, documents and photographs are considered by the Acquisitions Committee, which meets regularly and assesses each item carefully in the light of the objects already in the collection. However, even if an item is accepted into the collection, the Museum cannot guarantee that it will be put on display.

The Museum takes its responsibilities towards its collection very seriously and will only accept new acquisitions which are in good condition. The Museum has very limited funds and rarely purchases items for the collection. Similarly, due to the very considerable administrative implications, the Museum does not accept material on loan.
