How to Collect and Record Reminiscences
This pack contains a variety of resources to help you create your own collection of reminiscences. Find out more about family members who served with the forces and care for objects, photographs and documents, at school or at home.
The resources available in this pack are some of those we developed as part of the Their Past Your Future 2 project at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. They include a web film 'Recording Memories - How to get started' with an accompanying powerpoint presentation. Seamus, a young family historian, who researched his grandad's service career gives his own recommendations in his webfilm. We have also included advice for researching your WW1 ancestors and caring for your family's memorabilia.
Please let us know if you have ideas for other materials we could include. Email education@fleetairarm.com
The web films in this pack are 11Mb and 31Mb in size, and will NOT play while you are downloading them. Unlike other online video, they have been designed for saving to your hard disc and viewing offline more than once (maybe in the classroom). Please allow plenty of time for downloading.
